This
annual tournament is dedicated to the memory and in celebration of the life of my uncle, Richard Lawson, who lost his life
in a tragic accident on December 13, 2006.
Richard was a devoted husband to his wife, Shirley, and a wonderful father
to sons Jeff and Todd, and daughters LaDonna and Brandi. He and Shirley are also blessed with 9 grandchildren, and 2
great grandchildren.
An employee at the Noblesville Firestone factory for 31 years, he
retired in 1997 and began working security at Morse Lake Marina. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed
sharing those hobbies with family members, friends, and everyone else. Throughout his life, Richard taught many youngsters
how to do both, demonstrating great patience and a quick sense of humor. His appreciation of nature and enthusiasm for
life were evident whether he was in his boat on a lake with his favorite fishing rod, or out in the woods tracking down a
deer. His quick smile and laugh, especially when retelling fishing or hunting stories, were a favorite with everyone
who knew him. A real people person, Richard never met a stranger.
In our hearts and memories forever, we miss him dearly. We hope you
will join us on this very special day to celebrate his life and cherish his memory.
